چکیده
With an estimated cultivated area of 900 ha and annual production about 10,000 tonnes, tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is economically important crop in Mauritius which grown both under open field shade house conditions. In February 2021, unusual symptoms comprising leaf shoot chlorosis, uneven ripening, necrotic spots on fruits leaves, as well distortion, were observed 10% plants (cv. Elizeo) a the central region (Figure 1). following weeks, similar two other houses cvs. Tropical Rose Polycarpo, where disease incidences 75 to 80% recorded. The previously unknown indicative infection with either tospovirus or tobamovirus. Ten randomly selected diseased fruit samples tested negative by RT-PCR generic primers for tospoviruses (Chu et al., 2001), but positive tobamovirus (Li al. 2018) based conserved regions replicase gene. Three PCR products latter sequenced Blastn analysis showed very high identity available sequences Tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV, genus Tobamovirus), which, our knowledge, has never been found before. obtained, one was deposited GenBank (OK138915), >99.7% identical each other, had 98.4% nucleotide sequence corresponding ToMMV reference (NC_022230). first described 2013 infecting crops Mexico 2013) subsequently China 2014), USA (Webster Israel (Turina 2016) Spain (Ambrós causing infections capsicum crops. mosaic, necrosis literature match those Mauritius. Seed transmission not yet demonstrated, observations suggest that seeds may play role rapid spread globally. Following identification new Mauritius, awareness campaign conducted across country familiarise growers management strategies surveillance strengthened.

Complete Genome Sequence of a Tomato-Infecting Tomato Mottle Mosaic Virus in New York.
The complete genome sequence of an isolate of tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) infecting tomatoes in New York was obtained using small RNA (sRNA) deep sequencing. ToMMV_NY-13 shared 99% sequence identity with isolates from Mexico and Florida. Broader distribution of this emerging virus is a cause for concern to the tomato industry.
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of a Tomato Mottle Mosaic Virus Isolate from the United States
Tomato mottle mosaic virus was recently reported from the United States following its original description from Mexico as a novel Tobamovirus species. We present the first complete genome sequence of a tomato mottle mosaic virus isolate from the United States.

A severe disease of tomato was observed in 2010 in a greenhouse in the province of Lecce (Apulia, southern Italy). Plants showed interveinal yellowing and thickening of mature leaves and a bushy appearance of the new growth. Pale-yellow spots, which became sunken and necrotic, were scattered on the fruit surface. Leaf symptoms were reminiscent of those induced by Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV) o...

AIMS To develop a highly sensitive and rapid protocol for simultaneous detection and differentiation of Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) and Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV) in pepper and tomato. In this study, we use the multiplex PCR technique to detect dual infection of these two viruses. METHODS AND RESULTS A multiplex RT-PCR method consisting of one-tube reaction with two primer pairs targeted to re...
